The Kattegatt Trail is Sweden's first national cycle route and one of the country's most popular long-distance routes. It stretches some 390 km along the west coast, from Helsingborg in the south to Gothenburg in the north, or vice versa if you choose to start in Gothenburg.
The route follows the coast and offers seaside cycling with magnificent views, sandy beaches, open landscapes and charming fishing villages. The route passes through several villages with accommodation, cafés, restaurants and attractions, making it easy to plan both shorter stages and a whole cycling vacation.
The Kattegat Trail is well signposted and easy to follow. It is just as suitable for the experienced long-distance cyclist as for the family who wants to experience an active vacation together. You can choose to cycle the entire route or divide it into shorter stages.
A combination of cycling, swimming, culture and West Swedish cuisine awaits you, a journey that captures the best of Swedish summer along the Kattegat coast.

You can take your bike on Öresundståg and Pågatåg trains, subject to availability. It also makes it easy to cycle a section of the Kattegat Trail, take the train to a town along the trail, cycle a stage and take the train back.
Several companies along the Kattegatt Trail offer bicycle rental, luggage transportation and pick-up and drop-off of bicycles.
