The Kattegat Trail starts, or ends, in one of the oldest cities in Scandinavia - Helsingborg. From Helsingborg you cycle north, passing Sofiero Castle and the long, lovely beaches at Domsten and Viken. The trail runs along the water, and the view of a glittering Öresund is magical to say the least.

The first stretch takes you from the city center to Gröningen and Fria bad, two popular bathing places that attract with ice cream, sun and swimming. Sit down and enjoy for a while, because soon the trail's first uphill will come. A little further ahead are Sofiero Castle and Sofiero Farm, with a farm shop and café, both of which are well worth a visit.

The trail continues north, passing picturesque fishing villages and marinas such as Domsten and Viken. Just outside Viken, you can make a detour to the Beredskapsmuseet, Sweden's only museum housed in a preserved underground defense facility from the Second World War. Cycle on towards Höganäs and enjoy the view of the Öresund before arriving at Kvickbadet, just south of Höganäs harbor. Approx 90% asphalt, 10% gravel.
