- Waypoint (wpt): a single location, such as a café or an attraction.
- Route (rte): a list of points that describe the way you thinks cycling (good for route selection).
- Track (trk): the actual recorded track, divided into segments (most common for navigation).
GPX is a open file format supported by many navigation apps and cycling computers.

"The file does not open"
Ensure that the file extension is .gpx and that you open it in a GPX-compatible app (not in e.g. photo viewers).
"See the line but get no turn instructions"
Not all GPX provides turn-by-turn; some apps only show the track as a line - stick to the line, or choose the app that supports turn-by-turn.
"The route is wrong on the map"
Turn on the correct map layer/area and download the offline map.
"Cannot import into the bike computer"
Use the manufacturer's web/app for import and sync again.
