Christer Linderborg is one of the skilled cycling guides included in our guide pool. He is also an eminent MTB cyclist and gives some advice for you who may be new to MTB tracks but who want to sharpen their technology this summer.

Hi Christer! What is the most important thing to learn for those who have just started cycling MTB?

The most important thing as a beginner is to learn the right braking technique, the right position on the bike and balance. Cycling becomes so much more fun and safer if you feel safe on the bike.

Can you tell us about a common "beginner's mistake"?

The most common mistakes that beginners make are too hard inflated tires and too stiff / straight arms and legs. Cycling becomes bumpy and difficult on uneven ground. It is important to be compliant and use the body as an extra damper in rough terrain.

What is the best thing about cycling MTB on trails in the woods?

The best thing about MTB cycling in the forest is when you are out for a whole day along winding forest paths and stop at different places to eat and have coffee. The tempo does not have to be so high and you have time to see more of the surroundings. I find it extra fun to explore new areas where there are no marked MTB trails.

Bicycle package for you who want to hone the technology

If you want to hone the technology together with Christer, we can suggest one super nice bike package which Christer offers in collaboration with the incredibly service-minded Kungsörstorp Hotell & Restaurang. The package is suitable for both the adventurous family with children, the couple and the single household. MTB is fantastic fun and actually suits most people! With Christer as your guide, you will definitely become an even better MTB cyclist - regardless of whether you have cycled before or not.
