Magical beech forest on the way to Söderåsen
Your cycling adventure begins at the train station in Kågeröd, easily reached from most major towns in Skåne. If you’ve rented a bike, you’ll pick it up at Lund station and take the train to Kågeröd (about 30 minutes).
From there, your digital map guides you through a park and out into the countryside. After passing a farm, a quiet gravel road begins to wind uphill toward your first accommodation. The route is short but hilly (around 10 km), so we recommend starting between 14:00 and 16:00 – giving you time for breaks and to enjoy the beech forests and wide-open views.
At Klåveröd Logi & Café, nestled high on Söderåsen, peace and quiet await. Surrounded by nature with hiking trails just outside the door, you'll be welcomed with a basket of local ingredients to prepare your own dinner at your own pace – a gentle and relaxing end to your first day.

After breakfast, you have the whole day to explore the scenic Klåveröd area and Söderåsen National Park – one of Sweden’s most spectacular natural experiences. We recommend leaving the bike behind today and heading out on foot. You’ll receive maps and suggestions for hiking trails that lead you through lush beech forests, dramatic ravines, and peaceful forest lakes.
You’ll bring a packed lunch to enjoy at a scenic viewpoint or in a sunny forest clearing. When you return in the afternoon, another dinner basket filled with local ingredients awaits you – ready to be prepared at your own pace, in calm surroundings. A day for movement, stillness, and close connection to nature.

Unique accommodation in the heart of the forest
After a good night’s sleep and a nourishing breakfast, it’s time to set off on today’s cycling stage. You start with a short ride back toward the main road, then follow a winding gravel path that leads straight into the majestic Söderåsen. Take your time – after about 40 minutes, you’ll reach a viewpoint overlooking the dramatic ravine, a perfect spot for a scenic break.
As you leave the national park on its eastern side, the landscape shifts completely. Quiet country roads now take you through Skåne’s open farmland with grazing animals, endless fields, and patches of oak, pine, and beech forest. Along the way, there are plenty of peaceful spots to pause and reflect.
At Lake Dagstorpssjön, a narrow gravel path leads you deep into the woods to Nyrups Nature Hotel – a hidden gem in the forest. This evening offers a true off-grid experience, with no electricity or running water. You’ll prepare your dinner over an open fire, sleep in traditional Mongolian yurts, and enjoy a private session in the wood-fired sauna for ultimate relaxation.
Day 4 - A Day of Forest Calm and Lakeside Walking

Hiking at Dagstorpssjön
After a peaceful night in the heart of the forest, you have the whole day to enjoy the nature surrounding Nyrups Nature Hotel. Well-marked hiking trails wind through the beech forests near Frostavallen and around Lake Dagstorpssjön – a clear, inviting lake perfect for a refreshing swim.
Heat your lunch in the simple outdoor field kitchen, find a quiet spot under the trees, and let the pace of the day slow down. For a deeper connection to the surroundings, you can book a guided tour – perhaps a nature walk focusing on local geology and vegetation, or a food walk where you’ll learn to identify and taste wild, edible plants.
The evening ends with another self-cooked dinner close to nature and a second night in your yurt – surrounded by forest silence, darkness, and starlight.
Day 5 - Time to Head Home
Breakfast

Cycle on quiet country roads and winding dirt tracks.
After a final peaceful breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the forest. You cycle back to Höör through the scenic countryside, with time to enjoy the last moments of your journey.
From Höör, a convenient train takes you onward – filled with fresh air, new experiences, and lasting memories from five unforgettable days in the heart of Skåne.

Everything was good, what drags down the experience was that the bike map we downloaded showed us on the footpath to Nyrup's nature hotel, tough to pull a bike with panniers over logs and stones.
