If you want to discover Österlen and the southernmost part of Skåne on your own, cycling early or late in the season can be a good tip. The pace is slower and there is more time for contemplation and impression. The sea is always near you, beautiful beaches and meadows in gentle colors. Of course you eat well all the way and live with atmosphere.

A luxurious bike package that is well suited to complete together with a really good friend. The arrangement is made for your convenience and you can supplement with extra services of various kinds. The picture shows Ale's stones, an ancient relic of the type of ship setting and consists of 59 stones. Each stone weighs about 5 tons.

Day 1 - Simrishamn - Kåseberga

In Simrishamn, the fishing boats are located by the quay and the picturesque town is perfect for pleasant walks. Here you start your bike ride in Österlen and the route goes in a southwesterly direction in the vicinity of the sea. In Kåseberga, the mighty shipwreck Ale's stones can be seen. You can order some great spa hours if you feel like it.

In the evening, dinner and overnight stay await at the charming Kåseberga Gårdshotell & Spa in the village.

Day 2 - Kåseberga - Ystad

It is a friendly and easily accessible landscape that is very easy to like. A harmonious stretch further along the coast to Ystad with a nice selection of cafes and shops. The city was mentioned in writings as early as the 13th century, so it is very much historic land. If you like Wallander, you are of course also in the right place.

In the evening, dinner and overnight stay await at Sweden's oldest hotel, Hotel Continental du Sud in central Ystad.

Day 3 - Ystad - Östra Vemmenhög

South Coast at Pillehill

Cycling through the beautiful Scanian landscape continues at your own pace. The air is fresh and the views a treat for the soul.

The goal for the day is a little gem called Östra Vemmenhög. An old church village that offers charming accommodation in the form of the South Coast at Pillehill. Their slogan is: "Good locally produced food, wine to die for". It says most of what they stand for. Homely environment, comfortable beds and an adorable view.

Day 4 - Östra Vemmenhög - Trelleborg

After a good breakfast, you get on the bike for the last day's stretch that leads to Trelleborg. It is Sweden's southernmost city which, among other things, boasts its own palm trees at the southwest entrance. If you want to get to the southernmost piece of land in the country, it is not far to Smygehuk. In any case, you have been able to replenish the store of great cycling experiences in the scarce southern Skåne.

Very nice and extra gold edge with luxury food and accommodation. Nice service and good contact with the organizer. The first stretch felt a little long, as it was the day that was the shortest time to cycle. We had a bit to drive so could only start just before lunch.

Feel free to remind others to bring jelly protection to the bicycle saddle. The dinner at Ystads hotel was not good, very good breakfast. Pillehill fantastic !! Very good treatment by the tour operator. Good bikes.
