When the Nalovardo Fatbike Race was held in Sorsele on Saturday, March 10, 48 registered cyclists were on the starting line. It was 8 minus degrees and tough conditions with a lot of snow on parts of the course. According to organizer Pontus Holmgård, the race gave added flavor and he guarantees a follow-up 2019.

A competition in fatbike is characterized by day conditions and on this day they were very decisive. The distance was about 24 kilometers of snow trails with about 480 height meters. The course consisted of trampled snowmobile trail through mountain forest reserve, over mountain plateau and along the river valley. The end was a 1.5 kilometer climb.
- The variations made it difficult and there was a high demand that you can adjust your tire pressure, which is just as important as cross-country skiing, says Pontus Holmgård.

- Me and the organizer team are extremely satisfied. Partly with the number of participants, and partly about how positive feedback we received about it being well organized, well signposted and a fantastic tie-up. We already knew that this alpine fatbike track is just beyond the ordinary, and now we have had the pleasure of sharing that experience with nearly 50 fatbike cyclists.

Organizing club is Sorsele SK.
