Join us on an unforgettable cycling trip along the northern coast of Lake Vänern with lots of nature, culture and history. You cycle on the Union Trail and the Lake Vänern Trail between three real gems and stay at selected hotels with personality and friendly service. The price includes premium electric bikes with long range.
On this cycling tour, you’ll experience the charming industrial town of Borgvik—where the iron for the Eiffel Tower is said to have been produced—and visit Sliperiet’s unique art gallery. Karlstad boasts a rich cultural life, and the magnificent Klarälven River flows through the city. The trip ends in Kristinehamn, home to the world-famous Picasso sculpture Jacqueline looking out over Lake Vänern.

Day 1 - Arrival in Karlstad and Borgvik

Your adventure begins in Karlstad, where convenient transportation takes you to the charming mill town of Borgvik, a historic gem nestled in scenic surroundings. This well-preserved village has a rich history dating back to the time when it played a central role in Sweden's iron exports. Take a stroll along the cobbled streets, admire the beautiful wooden buildings and visit the old ironworks. Don't miss the art exhibition at Sliperiet and a visit to the craft shops.
Accommodations are at historic Hotel Kungskvarnen, located in the heart of Borgvik. This historic hotel combines tradition with modern comfort. End the evening with dinner at the hotel's restaurant.
Day 2 - Bike ride from Borgvik to Karlstad

After a delicious breakfast at Hotel Kungskvarnen It’s time to set out on a cycling adventure along the scenic Unionsleden trail. This stage takes you through the beautiful landscape of Lake Vänern, where forests, open fields, and glimpses of the lake create an ever-changing view. Be sure to stop at one of the cozy rest areas along the way to enjoy the tranquility and the beauty of nature.
Once you arrive in Karlstad, check in at the elegant Elite Stadshotellet, with a perfect location right in the heart of town and a beautiful view of the Klarälven River. From here, you’re within walking distance of the city’s best attractions, shops, and restaurants. In the evening, you can stroll along the river promenade, enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, or explore Karlstad’s rich cultural life. There’s something for everyone here, whether you’re drawn to art, music, or history.
Day 3 - Bike ride from Karlstad to Kristinehamn

After a hearty breakfast at Elite Stadshotellet Continue your journey eastward toward Kristinehamn. You’ll cycle along the shore of Lake Vänern, where the open landscape and the lake’s sparkling waters create a fantastic backdrop for today’s adventure. The route offers a mix of scenic views and charming little communities, perfect for a break with a cup of coffee and a pastry or a picnic.
Once you arrive in Kristinehamn, check in at the cozy Park Hotel Kristinehamn. The hotel’s central location makes it easy to explore the city’s attractions, such as the impressive Picasso sculpture on the shore of Lake Vänern—one of the world’s largest sculptures by the iconic artist. End the day with a relaxing stroll along the waterfront or a delicious dinner at one of the town’s charming restaurants.
