Lake Sommen in Östergötland is said to have as many islands as there are days in the year. The water is crystal clear, the fishing is famous and the roads around the lake almost always offer views of sparkling water.
With Hotel Sommarhagen as a base, a four-day mini vacation filled with nature experiences awaits. The old vicarage from the 17th century has been carefully renovated into a charming hotel surrounded by lakes and forests. From here you can cycle, hike or paddle through the quiet and varied landscape - and return each evening to comfortable accommodation, good food and relaxation in the hot tub.
Cycle to Malexander, Smedstorp or the village of Ulrika with its pottery sales, hike one of the twelve marked trails or glide along in a canoe on mirror-shiny waters. The restaurant serves homemade food with local ingredients, and in the 18 rooms awaits peace and quiet you will never forget.

Weak breakfast and food selection for that cost. No soundproofing whatsoever between rooms (newly built house). Hear when the neighbor pees.... Very nice surroundings and nice host couple.

A very good overall impression, fresh and nice accommodation, wish more accommodation looked this way. An absolutely wonderful environment with forest, pastures and silence. The cleaning of the room was like that considering all the dust under the bed. The food was good but the menu was a bit too narrow if staying several days. The food came quickly which makes you think that it did not come directly from the pan. The breakfast buffet is a bit boring and nothing to look forward to but quite ok for 2-3d. You can not buy a glass of wine but only a whole bottle. Reception and service superb. Bike paths very nice and the canoeing was great. Can imagine returning after all.

As for the food, you have pre-ordered both the food and the dining time. Therefore, our talented chef was able to prepare everything and quickly prepare the last thing, so that you would get the best service.
We believe that wine is an important part of the taste experience. That's why we carefully select the best combination for each dish and have a relatively large wine list. As an opened bottle loses its flavor after 3 days, we would have to throw away a lot of wine when serving by the glass. As our guests stay several days, they always have the opportunity to save a selected bottle throughout their stay, giving our guests the best taste experience while minimizing waste. Sustainability is important to us.

Beautiful hilly terrain, several loops to choose from. Clearly marked trails and good maps that were also carefully explained by the host couple. Nice accommodation and good food.
