Bike Summer at Anna's Hotel

Tip! If you have your own bike, arrive early, park for free at the hotel's parking lot, and head out for a full-day tour. Check-in is available from 4 pm. If you want to rent a bike, pick it up at check-in.

Day 1 - Experience the Ålak coast and the attractions of the Water Kingdom

The scenic surroundings around Kristianstad invite you to many pleasant bike rides. During the summer months, the area around Kristianstad is a summer paradise with salt-sprinkled swimming and long days on the mile-long beaches along Hanö Bay. At other times of the year, instead, the pristine beaches invite quiet reflection, and all the color changes in the forest are a work of art in themselves. Along the coast, you can also cycle and visit genuine eel fishing environments that have a history completely unique in its kind.

In the area surrounding Kristianstad, a unique and vast landscape stretches out, where sorrel, bluebells, and heather paint red, blue, and yellow fields in the sandy and barren soil. If you cycle north, you'll be met with apple orchards, shimmering lakes, and beech forests in a hilly landscape.

Day 2 - Cycling along embankments

In Skåne, there are plenty of well-maintained cycling paths, making it easy to experience the landscape. A popular cycling route is to cycle around Råbelövssjön, which is 22 km long. The bike path, a car-free cycle path, is only 300 meters from the hotel and runs north along the eastern side of Råbelövssjön. Stop at the beaches in Balsby and Österslöv and then continue on the gravel road to the idyllic Ekestad. Here, the tour passes through apple orchards and pastures, with Balsberget on one side and the sparkling lake on the other.

With a bit more stamina, you can tackle a slightly longer tour of 55 km. Then continue north on the bike path through the lake landscape between Röbelövssjön, Oppmannasjön, and Ivösjön. In Arkelstorp, the route turns south towards Oppmannasjön on small gravel roads. Stop and enjoy the fantastic view of Söndrabyn! Then cycle on between farms and fruit orchards to Barum. From here, you can take a ferry to Ivö. From Barum, the tour continues on the road to Bäckaskog Castle, where you turn back towards Kristianstad.

Another popular cycling excursion is to pedal up to Immeln (25 km), park the bikes there, and paddle a canoe for a few hours.
