Cycle in Södermanland

In southern Södermanland, it is close to both the sea coast and beautiful lakes. Here there are oak groves, castles, delicious locally produced vegetables and fine cycle paths that are suitable for those who want to enjoy a day outdoors. This is a package that combines scenic road cycling with charming hotel accommodation in Nyköping. The city's famous feast in 1317 was a terrifying event, but in this context, the historical atmosphere creates a thoroughly pleasant experience.

Even if you cycle a few miles in the area around Nyköping, the starting point is almost in the middle of the city. Blommenhof Hotel is just one kilometer from Nyköping Central Station. Despite the central location, the calm prevails here. The surroundings are calm with lovely mixed forest and the water lily trail does not pass far away. The atmosphere is laid back relaxed and in the cozy rooms with high standards you sleep well.

You cycle along a low-traffic country road and share the road with cars, which requires normal attention. We do not recommend the bicycle package for families with children.

Day 1 - Glittering archipelago and magnificent castles

The day begins at Blommenhof Hotel. There is parking space for car and bicycles to borrow if you do not have your own. When you leave, you will receive a lunch bag and a digital map (gpx file) that describes today's route.

First you cycle in an easterly direction towards the beautiful archipelago. You will pass Svärdsklova with restaurant and swimming area. Those who love nature experiences can make a detour to Stendörrens Naturreservat. When you come to Tystberga, there is a chance to buy coffee and refill your lunch bag. If history and ice cream are attractive, you can visit Nynäs Castle and nature reserve, which is a fantastic excursion destination.

When you cycle back to Nyköping and Blommenhof Hotell, freshly brewed coffee or a refreshing drink and maybe a game of boules await in the garden. Change into a bathrobe and paw down to the relaxation area for a dip in the pool. Then an equally well-deserved three-course dinner awaits.

Day 2 - Sörmland countryside and elderberry orchards

Treat yourself to a sleepy morning in your comfortable room. When you wake up, you can enjoy Blommenhof's large breakfast buffet, either inside the restaurant or out in the garden. When you are ready, you get today's lunch bag and go out on today's bike ride.

On this tour you cycle on the country roads at your own pace surrounded by the beautiful agricultural landscape. You will pass Tuna Café & Orangery, and Lasätter Gård, which has its own elderberry farm and makes artisanal products from elderberries. If you want to go for a swim, you can take a detour to one of the lakes marked on the map. In the evening, a three-course dinner or summer buffet awaits you at the hotel.
