Southeast of Västerås near Strömsholms canal is Strömsholms Marketenteri with the mahogany villa. The building dates from the beginning of the 19th century and has, among other things, named the alcoholic mahogany mixture containing brandy and sugar drink. Nearby is beautiful Strömsholm's canal with Karl XV's lock.
A major attraction in the area is Strömsholm Castle, which was built in 1560 by Gustav Vasa and then inhabited by, among others, the widow queen Hedvig Eleonora.
