Day 1 - Around Frösön - culture, mountain views, and coffee and pastries

Once you arrive at Frösö Park Hotel, it’s time to hop on your bike and explore Frösön. Today’s ride is the perfect introduction to Jämtland, with breathtaking views of Lake Storsjön and the mountains, scenic routes, and several pleasant stops along the way.

You’ll cycle through a varied landscape where rural scenery meets culture and history. Along the way, you’ll pass Frösö Church and Wilhelm Peterson-Berger’s Sommarhagen, beautifully situated with a view of Lake Storsjön. The tour continues past Härke Art Center and the lakeside areas at Frösöstrand before reaching Frösöberget and Frösötornet, where a panoramic view of Jämtland’s mountain landscape awaits.

Be sure to stop for a coffee break along the way, enjoy the view, or maybe take a dip in Lake Storsjön. If you’d like, you can also make a detour to Bynäset for swimming and nature experiences.

Day 2 - Island Life and Artisanal Cuisine at Lake Storsjön

Today, a full day of cycling along the shores of Lake Storsjön awaits. The route offers a delightful mix of open landscapes, island life, swimming spots, and local culinary delights. With bridges, a ferry, and scenic roads, this will be one of the most varied stages of the trip.

From Frösön, cycle via Frösöstrand and the Vallsund Bridge toward the mainland. Along the way, there are several great spots for a swim in Lake Storsjön, and at the Sunne church ruins, you can stop and learn about the area’s history.

A detour to the Andersön Nature Reserve is highly recommended. Here you’ll find beautiful hiking trails, swimming coves, and magnificent views of Lake Storsjön and the mountains. The journey then continues to the ferry terminal and across to Norderön—one of Lake Storsjön’s largest islands. Here you’ll cycle along quiet country roads through beautiful countryside and have the chance to visit Tivars Gårdsmejeri, known for its award-winning cheeses and café. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee break or lunch before continuing back toward Frösön.

Day 3 - Views of Rödön, its history, and the journey home

After breakfast, a short bike ride through Rödön’s open countryside awaits, where magnificent views of Lake Storsjön and the mountains accompany you along the way. The tour offers a wonderful blend of nature and culture, with the opportunity to visit Acksjön’s unique nature reserve, known for its rare orchids and distinctive flora.

Along the way, you can also take a detour to the Undromskogen archaeological site or stop at Jordgubbslandet for pick-your-own strawberries and a snack during the summer season. At Rödön Church, another beautiful view of Lake Storsjön awaits, and for those who wish, there’s an opportunity for one last swim before heading home.

After the tour, you’ll return to Frösö Park Hotel to check out and depart—hopefully with many wonderful memories of your days spent among the mountains, lakes, and culinary delights of Jämtland.
