Experience a delightful blend of rural idyll, flourishing gardens and exciting history as you cycle through the beautiful landscape around Enköping. The quiet back roads lead you past colorful parks, medieval churches and charming coffee stops - perfect for those who want to combine nature, culture and relaxation.

For three days you can enjoy easy cycling in the open, flat agricultural landscape. The low-traffic roads invite you to relax and reflect, while the surroundings offer beautiful views in all directions. History is a constant reminder - there are monuments and stories of times gone by almost everywhere. If you want to take it easy, you can spend a whole day exploring Enköping's famous parks - known for their diversity and thoughtful design. Alternatively, roll down to Bredsand, the local favorite swimming spot on the shores of Lake Mälaren.

You stay both nights at the cozy Jädra Gårdshotell - a charming accommodation within easy cycling distance of Enköping. This allows you to easily explore the area without heavy packing. If you have a long way to travel, you can easily book an extra night and start cycling the next day.

Day 1 - Historical imprint and rural charm

Your first day of cycling takes you straight out into the open farmland around Enköping. In the morning you make a stop at Härkeberga Church, where you can admire the colorful and detailed paintings of the 15th century master Albertus Pictor. Close by is Härkeberga Kaplansgård, an open-air museum owned by the Nordic Museum, where you get an insight into what life was like on a farm in the 18th and 19th centuries.

When your stomach starts to rumble, a good lunch and coffee awaits at the popular Skuggans Café. Here, the prawn sandwiches are award-winning and the pastries are as beautiful as they are delicious. Full and satisfied, you cycle on to a rune stone with a thousand-year-old message, before rolling back to Jädra Gård.

The day ends with a Swedish smorgasbord - a nice way to round off a day filled with culture, nature and rural enjoyment.

Day 2 - Garden inspiration and timeless nature

After breakfast, the cycling day starts where you left off, on the small winding gravel road that leads you further into the rural landscape. Along the way, you'll pass more fascinating rune stones, which carry echoes of a distant time.

Soon you will reach Härnevi nursery, a green paradise with lots of plants, locally produced vegetables and charming chickens running around. Adjacent is Skuggans kaffestuga - a rural coffee shop where you can enjoy the same delicious cakes as at Skuggans Café. If you want to stretch your legs before lunch, there is an opportunity for a short walk along Äsåsen, a scenic hill with beautiful views and a quiet atmosphere.

Lunch is served at the beautiful old manor house Landsberga, where you can also peek into the well-stocked farm shop. After lunch, you cycle on through a historic agricultural landscape, with sweeping views and quiet gravel roads. At the top of Vånsjöåsen you will be rewarded with a magnificent view before ending the day's tour with a visit to the atmospheric Härnevi church. Overnight stay awaits at Jädra Gårdshotell.

Day 3 - Parks, swimming and the charm of Enköping

After a good breakfast with local produce, you're ready to hop back on your bike. Today's tour goes towards Enköping, the small town that has become known for its many beautiful parks. Here you can stroll through green oases filled with floral splendor, exciting plant compositions and quiet seating. Perfect for those who like garden inspiration or just want to enjoy a quiet moment in the shade.

Feel like a dip instead? Then head for Bredsand, one of Enköping's most beloved swimming spots. Here awaits a shallow sandy beach and the glittering waters of Lake Mälaren - a nice rounding off of three days of cycling, nature and the joy of discovery. You can choose to return to Jädra Gård or park your bike and take the train to your home town.
