Solbacken Bed & Breakfast

The atmosphere in Järvsö is special and the surrounding nature is wonderful. Ljusnan flows past quite nearby and from the terrace you have a view of the Lillälven river which flows past Kyrkön where Järvsö church is located. After today's cycling, you can enjoy the tranquility and have a glass of wine in the library.

Solbacken has a history dating back nearly 140 years. Tanning operations were first carried out down by the Lillälven River in the 1880s, and in the early 1900s, the building was moved to its current location. Over the years, it has served as a nursing home and a guesthouse, among other things. Today, it is Bed & Breakfast with that special, warm feeling that comes from a family-owned and operated business. The rooms are both cozy and fresh, and there are both double and single rooms. The bathrooms have been recently renovated. The food served at Solbacken has a local flair and is prepared from scratch. The menus change with the seasons, and beer and wine are served. Dinner must be ordered one day in advance. Guests can choose between a two-course or three-course dinner. Solbacken is fully licensed.

Järvsö church is an attraction, not least because of its impressive size. It is said to be the largest rural church in the country and is beautifully located by the river. When it was built, it provided the most needed jobs because it was tough times in the 1830s with a lack of growth. Here was also buried the great daughter of the countryside, the national dress Lill-Babs 2018.

Of course, there are great opportunities for cycling mountain biking nearby. Both cross-country and downhill. In the winter you can ski in the long run in fine trails. If you want to go skiing, the ski slope is a quarter walk away.
