Along the mighty Klarälven the Klarälvsbanan runs, a rebuilt railway line that is now paved with high quality asphalt. Almost without slopes and sharp curves, right through the beautiful nature. Only 25 meters from Deje Klarälvsbanan is Deje Hostel.
The distance from Karlstad is about 3 km, quite suitable for a day stage, and the distance to Munkfors further up the track is also about 3 km. Good stages for a family of children for example, and completely car-free! The hostel is housed in a charming turn-of-the-century villa that was once a provincial medical residence.
In Deje there is both proximity to the Klarälven river and much to do. From the hostel, it is only three minutes by bicycle to the cultural center Gamla Kraftstationen, which is located in the old power station building just off the rapids. There are art exhibitions, crafts, café and lots of exciting events. Right next to the hostel there is a shop where you can buy your own breakfast food, and if you have more difficult problems with the bike, there is also a bicycle repairman nearby. Anyone who wants to eat well is close to a restaurant with full rights.
Deje also has Fritidsbanken, which means that you can borrow sports equipment such as bicycles, roller skis and ski boots in the winter.
Number of beds: There are a total of 10 beds. The hostel's rooms are spacious and full of atmosphere. One triple room, three double rooms and one single room. There is space for extra beds in all. The showers and toilets are fresh, and the kitchen well equipped with freezer, fridge, microwave, toaster and so on. There is a cot to borrow, boathouse, TV room and WiFi is available for 25 SEK per day. Pets are not accepted.
Next to Dejeforsen in Klarälven is the Old Power Station from the early 20th century, which boasts a fascinating cultural arena with a unique art gallery. Organic Culinarum Café enhances the experience.
