A longer day ride for those who want a full cycling day. It suits you who want calm cycling. The ride varies between asphalt and gravel.
Nyköping is one of Sweden's oldest cities and there is much to discover here. You cycle at a leisurely pace through Nyköping and along the Nyköpingsån river. If you make a small detour, there is a unique area with ancient remains, right in the middle of town. Since you cycle on old country roads that you share with cars, the tour is not suitable for families with children. Blacksta winery and Kvarnen Kafé are the final destinations of the day. Check the opening hours before you set off and enjoy a bike ride that takes you through beautiful nature.

You see the magnificent Kungstornet at Nyköpingshus when you cycle out of town. Nyköpingshus is the center of the city's history and was originally a medieval castle. Nyköping's guest offer is called the rugged events that took place in 1317, when Sweden's King Birger Magnusson invited to a party at the castle and imprisoned his brothers.
This is a unique area with rock carvings, burial grounds, rune stones, hollow ways and bridges. Next to the rune stones are burial mounds that belonged to the Släbro and Broby farms. The world-unique Släbro carvings are rock carvings with hundreds of figures and bowl pits. Many of the motifs are unique in their kind.
Feel free to make a detour to the scenic Tista castle. The castle, which today is privately owned, is built in Italian style. The surroundings are very beautiful, and here you can take a break and enjoy a packed lunch.
At the southernmost tip of Lidsjön is a nice swimming area called Edstorpsbadet. There are grassy areas and a sandy beach, perfect to stop for a cooling swim.
The church is located between the lakes Långhalsen and Lidsjön. There are several Iron Age burial grounds, remains of five rural castles and three rune stones. Just west of the church is one of the province's largest burial mounds.
At Blacksta vineyard, well-known grape varieties such as Merlot, Chardonnay and Vidal Blanc are grown. The wines are produced using a traditional cold fermentation method and are completely natural with no added sulphur, color or aromas. You can take a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, enjoy a dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Beautifully located, nice cafe housed in an old mill by the river with good pastries and nice ram rabbits. Quacking ducks outside raises the coziness factor.
This cycling tour is easy and does not require any special skills. You cycle on old country roads and share the road with cars. Approx 60% asphalt, 30% gravel. The tour is therefore not suitable for families with children. Check the opening hours at Kvarnen Kafé and Blaxta vineyard before you set off. Please bring swimwear.
