Start in Lidköping's bustling town center with market stalls, charming wooden houses at Limtorget and porcelain magic at Rörstrands center. Follow the trail out along the water past the Vänermuseet, where you can learn more about the life and history of the lake, and take a dip at Framnäsbadet or a break at Kronocamping.

As you leave the city, cycle on quiet country roads through open fields and small villages, stopping at Butiken på landet for local bargains. A little further on, the spectacular Hindens Reef awaits, a five-kilometer-long pebble ridge that juts out into Lake Vänern. It's a perfect spot for a short hike with miles of water views. Nearby, the beautiful Svalnäs bathing area and Söne dairy beckon, where you can have a coffee or lunch. The trail then continues through the fertile agricultural landscape towards Örslösa and Flo, where you can take a break at Särestad's rural museum.

From Flo, there's a short but steep climb up the mighty Hunneberg, one of West Sweden's famous plateau mountains. The reward is the fantastic Flo view and a nature stop at the Kungajaktsmuseet Älgens Berg, where you can learn more about animals and nature or join a beaver safari. Then it's off to Vargön, where you can spend the night at Ronnums herrgård, and end the day in Vänersborg. Here, in ”Little Paris”, a guest harbor, cafes, culture and a beautiful promenade await.
