Start at Kristinehamn's guest harbor or Herrgårdscampingen and follow the Vänern shore south. After just a couple of kilometers, you'll reach the famous Picasso sculpture with its fantastic views of the lake. There are cafés and restaurants open in the summer, and you can stay in Fyrhuset, in the middle of the archipelago.
The trail continues through bathing bays and pine forests, past Fyrparken, Jutviken and Revsands camping, where you can take a dip. At Edskorset you can choose the longer route through the Nötön-Åråsviken nature reserve with magnificent scenery, or a shorter route towards Visnums-Kil. Feel free to stop at Hygns Vilt for coffee and local delicacies.
Along the way to Gullspång, Rudskoga church, Södra Råda timber church and several charming farm shops await. In Gullspång you can see the unique Gullspång salmon at the salmon ladder, eat well or stay overnight in a hostel. The last bit to Otterbäcken offers an archipelago feeling, boating and nice evening sun. A perfect end to a day filled with nature, swimming and a taste of Värmland.
