Today's stage starts in Borgvik, an idyllic mill town that almost feels like an open-air museum. There are many well-preserved stone buildings, a rich history and beautiful walking paths. Don't miss Sliperiet, with its art gallery and restaurant, or Kungskvarnen by the rapids, where you can both eat and stay overnight.
From Borgvik, the trail goes through forest and past farms, on towards Nysäter where you will find Värmlands Vikingacenter (open in summer). Nearby is also the von Echstedska farm, worth a visit and with a summer open café on weekends. After a short stretch of asphalt, the trail continues on gravel roads in a hilly landscape. The first opportunity to buy food comes after about 23 km in Svanskog, so bring some extra energy.
The stage ends with uphills on gravel roads with loose ground up to Baljåsen, Dalsland's highest point, where nice viewpoints await. Approx. 50% asphalt, 50% gravel.
