This cycling route has undergone a special certification by the Swedish Transport Agency, which certifies that the path is of high quality, has clear signage and is safe for traffic. There is also a wide range of experiences and services along the trail.
Over a thousand years ago, the Vikings launched their boats from the southern coast of Skåne for their voyages across the seas.
This stage starts in charming Ystad, where you can stroll around 300 half-timbered houses, green gardens and cobbled streets. Visit the well-preserved monastery with its herb garden, museum and café - and then follow in Wallander's footsteps with guided tours and filming locations from the movies.
Between Ystad and Trelleborg you cycle past beautiful Mossbystrand and the lively fishing villages of Abbekås and Hörte, surrounded by ancient remains from the Bronze Age. At Beddingestrand you will encounter a lively summer idyll and in Smygehuk, Sweden's southernmost cape, fish smokehouse, cafes and small shops await.
Along the way, you'll pass Böste and Gislöv's location before reaching Trelleborg, with shopping, parks, palm trees and the intriguing Viking castle of Trelleborgen - complete with museum and café.
