This cycling route has undergone a special certification by the Swedish Transport Agency, which certifies that the path is of high quality, has clear signage and is safe for traffic. There is also a wide range of experiences and services along the trail.
The Sjuhäradsrundan is a real holiday favorite. It takes you through a hilly but easy-to-cycle landscape through the hinterland of western Sweden. On some stretches you even cycle above the spruce tops. The cycle path runs largely on a car-free embankment through cozy, vibrant communities.
A big advantage for families with children is that about 120 km of the trail is completely car-free, making cycling safe and relaxing. Along the way, a varied landscape awaits with forests, pastures, meadows and over 100 lakes.
Sjuhäradsbygden is rich in culture and history. There are ruins of the fortresses that once marked Sweden's border with Denmark, as well as well-preserved castles and Torpa stone house, known both for its medieval history and its ghost stories. Another unique destination is Hedared Stave Church, Sweden's only preserved medieval stave church.
The area is also known for its textile industry and for the itinerant tradesmen who for centuries left their mark on the area.
