The museum tour is a lovely day trip on quiet roads between lakes, forests and old mill towns in the heart of Bergslagen. The tour is equally suitable for a day trip as for a weekend with culture and nature in focus.

You start in charming Nora, where the old station and vintage railway tell the story of the golden age of railways. From here you cycle towards Dalbotorpsravinerna, an almost fairytale-like place with rippling streams and moss-covered rocks. Perfect for a coffee break. The final highlight of the day is the Frövifors Paper Mill Museum, where you can experience both industrial history and exciting exhibitions in a unique setting. The museum tour is a perfect way to cycle through the history of Bergslagen.

    Nora Railway Museum

The tour starts at Nora's old station, which today houses a tourist office and railway museum. Here you will find buildings, locomotives and objects that tell of the glory days of the railroad. The station area has a genuine atmosphere and is well worth exploring before the cycling takes off.

    The Dalbotorp ravines

In the Dalbotorpsravinerna nature reserve, you step straight into a quiet world of streams, moss-covered rocks and lush greenery. Many different species coexist in a small area, and the ravines create a feeling of untouched nature in the middle of Bergslagen. A perfect stop to catch your breath before pedaling on.

    Järle station

Sweden's oldest railway station, built in 1854, is a real gem. The small building still retains its charm and sometimes serves as a summer café. You can also take the train here - NBVJ runs a steam train and rail bus between Nora and Järle, and you can take your bike on board.

    Frövifors school

The mill community of Frövifors grew up around the industry, and here the stately school from 1907 remains, built in the typical Art Nouveau style of the time. The building is a fine example of how the development of the community was linked to the growth of the mill.

    Frövifors Paper Mill Museum

The finale is a visit to the Frövifors Paper Mill Museum, named both Working Life Museum of the Year and Industrial Heritage of the Year. Here you will encounter mighty paper machines, packaging history and a hand paper workshop in the old brick buildings by the rapids. Add art exhibitions, a café and the opportunity to charge your e-bike - this is a stop that could easily be the highlight of your day.
