Take the train with your bike to Hallsberg and head for Tiveden - a journey full of experiences along the way! There are several different route options from Hallsberg station to Fagertärn, but this one is often called the most pleasant.

The railway community of Hallsberg emerged in the 1860s and soon became an important hub. The station house, designed by the architect A.W. Edelsvärd, was inaugurated in 1886 and is still today a central gateway to travel throughout the country - perfect start for cycling adventures towards Tiveden.
At Lake Tisaren, you look out towards the island where August Mattson lived for 20 years with his animals. Known as 'Enslingen' on Bockön, he devoted his life to astronomical studies. His remarkable timekeeping won the respect of scientists, and he became the first Scandinavian to become a member of the French Astronomical Society.
Lerbäck is the parish center with deep roots. Here is the church, the homestead with historic buildings and the inn where Lerbäck's theater operates all year round. A place where history, culture and living traditions meet.
Skyllberg Ironworks is mentioned as early as 1346 and has been owned by the Svensson family since 1888. The ironworks has been shaped by the wives of monks, the royal family, the herald Louis de Geer and several generations of industrialists. Today, Skyllberg is still a living mill town with a unique industrial history.
Here you walk through a cultural landscape with roots in the Iron Age. Snavlunda and Tjälvesta offer flowering meadows, lush groves and traces of the last ice sheet. An idyllic place for a break and nature experience.
Askersund is a picturesque small town at the northern tip of Lake Vättern. The harbor is the heart of the town with cafes, ice cream, art gallery and craft stalls. Perfect for an ice-cream break or a bite to eat before continuing your journey towards Tiveden.
Kullängsstugan from 1693 is a knottimbered cottage built by the legendary Kullagubben. The cottage gives a picture of what a larger croft could look like in the 17th century and is today a cultural monument under Örebro County Museum.
Aspa mill flourished in the 18th and 19th centuries with iron processing as the engine. Even today, the mill road is lined with buildings from that time. The manor house, which was a manor house for 100 years, is the great jewel of the community.
At Fagertärn you can see the unique red water lily that blooms in July and August. There is a marked hiking trail around the lake and signs that tell the story of how the water lilies were discovered and protected as early as 1905. An atmospheric end point on the bike ride towards Tiveden.
