The route on your phone
Become a member to use the route with your phone. You can use the app, or open the GPX file in another map app or GPS device.
This cycling route has undergone a special certification by the Swedish Transport Agency, which certifies that the path is of high quality, has clear signage and is safe for traffic. There is also a wide range of experiences and services along the trail.
Start in Åmål's guest harbor, where sailboats, small cafés and the city's older quarters create a charming setting. Take a walk up to Kungsberget for a magnificent view of Lake Vänern before setting off.
The trail follows nice bike paths out of town, past Berga Bistro, and on along quiet roads that wind through forest and farmland. If you want to make a detour, Paradisets Spa is located on Gränsön, right by the water. After the county border, you reach the Guttane shopping area, perfect for a break or some provisions before turning south towards the coast. Krokstad Herrgård, one of the region's most renowned restaurants, awaits you here. A perfect place for lunch or an overnight stay in beautiful surroundings.
Just a few kilometers away is Duse udde, with a sandy beach, rock pool, cottages and restaurant in the lighthouse and a view of Lake Vänern that takes your breath away. The last bit into Säffle goes along nice bike paths that lead to the guest harbor, where you can watch the boats lock, eat at Stenmagasinet or have coffee at Kanalcaféet.
