Although the road is narrow and winding, it is paved and lightly trafficked, making for a peaceful ride. The bike ride goes through stretches of sparse vegetation, rivers and small lakes that reflect the nearby mountains.
As you approach the Norwegian border, the terrain becomes hilly but manageable, with forested slopes and open plains where you may spot reindeer. Well-placed rest stops along the way provide excellent opportunities for short breaks and enjoying nature. As you cross the border into Norway, the terrain levels out and offers a gentle cycle ride to Hattfjelldal, a charming village at the foot of the Okstindan mountains. Here you'll find accommodation, places to eat and the chance to explore the area on foot or by bike. This stage is a highlight for cyclists seeking peace and beautiful scenery along the border between Sweden and Norway.
