The Gotland Trail takes you through Gotland's unique landscape, a cycling experience that combines coastal views, cultural history and a continental atmosphere. The trail stretches from Fårö in the north to Hoburgen in the south, and depending on the route chosen, a bike ride around the island will be between 300 and 500 km.
The nature experiences are many: white sandy beaches, dramatic rauk fields, steep rocky coasts, flowering meadows and windswept rocky forests growing directly on the bedrock. Although the island is relatively flat, with Lojsta hed as the highest point at 82 meters above sea level, the trail offers a fine balance between challenge and enjoyment.
Along the way, cozy cafés, farm shops, craftsmen and flea markets await you, adding a special touch to your cycling journey. In summer, some major roads can be busier, so some attention is required.
We have divided the Gotland Trail into two parts and can be cycled as an intense weekend ride or at a slower pace for a week. For those looking for extra experiences, there is the Gotland 360 exercise race, the Gotland Gravel event in Visby, as well as fine mountain bike trails such as Klinteberget near Klintehamn and the family-friendly Gotland Bike Park in Slite.
