A manageable day ride with time for stops along the way. It suits you who have cycled a little before. You ride mostly on asphalt.
The Holmsund Loop is an easy, almost entirely flat bike ride that takes you through the coastal landscape south of Umeå. As you ride across the bridge between Holmsund and Obbola, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of the mighty Ume River delta, where the river meets the sea.
There are several pleasant stops along the way. Stop for a coffee break at the charming Smultronställets Trädgårdskafé or enjoy the seaside setting at Skärgårdscaféet in Holmsund. At Bergöbron, you can take a short detour up to the observation tower and look out over Västerfjärden—a particularly beautiful spot when the evening sun paints the landscape in warm hues.
If you're lucky with the wind, you'll get to experience one of the area's little natural phenomena. If you set out at the right time, the early offshore wind can turn into a cool sea breeze, giving you a tailwind almost all the way around.

Smultronstället, a garden center and café, is located in the village of Holmsjön just outside Umeå. On a wooded hillside with a swimming beach just around the corner, you can browse the plants, check out the garden shop, enjoy a coffee break, or just relax for a while in a hammock.
Lövösundet is a cozy lakeside swimming spot. There is a lawn and a barbecue area here.
Stöcksjöbadet is a pleasant beach that’s quiet and relaxing for families.
