Växjö is the northernmost city on the Southeast Trail and has everything from award-winning restaurants, unique shopping and entertainment to picturesque cobbled streets and red cottages. Cycle on winding forest roads and experience the Småland nature down towards Tingsryd. Take a dip in one of the many lakes, and if you're lucky you might catch a glimpse of a moose or a deer.
The start/finish of the Sydostled in Växjö is the travel center. The city currently has around 66,000 inhabitants. In Växjö, nature is always close by, for example, you can fish in Lake Växjösjön, which is close to the city. Along the trail you will find a number of attractions, such as Teleborg Castle, the Swedish Glass Museum and the Emigrants' House. When you reach the Eco Temple, Växjö's water tower, you will have reached the highest point of the Southeast Trail, 203 meters above sea level. Did you know that in Växjö's oldest pastry shop, Broqvist's Pastry Shop, Napoleon's pastry was "born" almost 150 years ago?
