The first stage of the Lelången Trail starts in Årjäng and takes you through hilly countryside with lakes, forests and small villages. Feel free to make detours, there is much to discover along the way.
Start at the 8 meter high Årjängstrollet in the center of Årjäng. Take the opportunity to walk the sculpture walk (3 km) or try dressage cycling along "De Vackra Vyernas Järnväg". You can stay overnight at Hotell Årjäng or at a five-star campsite 3 km away. Don't forget to stock up before you cycle on towards Fölsbyn and into Blomskog parish.
The trail runs through varied terrain. At Ängebäck you can turn towards Ingebyn or take a detour to Borgåsgubben, a mythical stone statue, and on to Brevikens camping. You then cycle along Lake Blomma before the trail reaches Lake Lelången. Here are several nice bathing opportunities before you reach Gustavsfors.
Detour Lennartsfors: Continue straight after Ängebäck to reach Lennartsfors (5 km from the trail) - a charming village with canal locks, crafts, cafés and accommodation. Here you can also rent a canoe or take a canal boat trip with M/S Nils Ericson. To return to the trail, follow the signs for Gustavsfors. 30% asphalt, 70% gravel road.
