Astrid Lindgren's Vimmerby offers cycling in one of Sweden's most fabulous villages. Here, in the forests of Småland, you will meet the places that inspired Astrid Lindgren - one of the country's most beloved and internationally renowned authors. With names like Katthult (Gibberyd), Bullerbyn (Sevedstorp), Mariannelund and Vimmerby, it's clear that this is Emil i Lönneberga's home region.
With Vimmerby as a starting point, the tourist office has developed several charming cycling trails. They lead you past literary environments, cultural and historical attractions and scenic spots. Here you can combine cycling with a visit to Astrid Lindgren's World, which attracts almost half a million visitors annually, where well-known characters such as Pippi, Emil and Ronja are brought to life in their environments, from Villa Villekulla to Mattisborgen.
In addition to the world of fairy tales, the area also offers bathing places, churches, Stenriket, the Övrakulla viewpoint and of course Kvilleken, Sweden's oldest and largest tree, one of Europe's most impressive oaks.
