Åkulla Bokskogar is a collective name for a dozen nature reserves in inner Halland. The area is located as a triangle between Varberg, Falkenberg and Ullared, and is known as one of Sweden's foremost beech forest areas. Here you will encounter a unique nature with hilly terrain, about twenty lakes and a rich biodiversity with several unusual and endangered species.
For those who want to cycle, Åkulla bokskogar offers a scenic experience with varied terrain and winding roads through lush forests. The combination of forest, lakes and nature reserve makes the area perfect for both day trips and longer bike rides. Keep in mind that some trails in the nature reserve are for hiking only, where cycling is not allowed.
In addition to nature experiences, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, swimming and visits to cafés and farm shops in the immediate area. Åkulla beech forests is a popular destination for those who want to experience Halland's green heart up close.
