Siljan Runt takes you around the mighty Siljan in Dalarna. The lake was formed around 377 million years ago when a meteorite hit and created one of Europe's largest craters. Here, in the heart of Dalarna, you cycle through a landscape shaped by cosmic forces, where the shape of the lake and surrounding heights are reminiscent of the dramatic impact.

You can start cycling in Mora, famous for the Vasaloppet and the Zorn Museum. From there, the route follows the lakeshore through Gesunda and Sollerön, on towards Leksand with its midsummer traditions and open valley landscape. Rättvik attracts with its long pier and lively summer culture, while Tällberg offers classic views of Lake Siljan from its timbered hotels.

The route ends through Vikarbyn back to Mora, where forests, meadows, and villages line the way. For cycling tourists, Siljan Runt is not only a physical challenge and a scenic journey, it is also a tour through a geological history that is completely unique in Europe.

The summer months offer an extra experience with M/S Gustaf Wasa, Sweden's oldest passenger steamer, which operates Leksand-Mora-Rättvik. You can also bring your bike on board and combine cycling with a boat trip.

This is part of the Siljan Trail. On some stretches, the trail runs on roads with higher traffic, where it is important to pay extra attention. Approx. 65% asphalt, 35% gravel.
