Hjortrundan winds its way along gravel roads through magical forests where deer thrive. Especially in the evening, you have a great chance of meeting red deer, and if you want to experience something really powerful, you can cycle here at dusk during September-October, when the roar of the rut echoes through the forest.
The red deer is Scandinavia's largest cervid, and meeting a herd in the forest is an experience that stays with you for a long time.

The tour starts at Harge Bad & Camping - also called Närkes riviera. Here a long sandy beach, clear water, glamping and summer adventures await the whole family. A perfect starting point for both cycling and relaxation.
In the middle of the landscape you will find Hammarns brewery and their charming Café Tonic. Here you can take a break with something refreshing - farm sales of soft drinks and ice cream make the stop an appreciated feature along the way.
An exciting detour along the route is Knalla mine, which is part of the historic Zinkgruve field. Here you get a feel for life as a miner and a glimpse of the area's rich industrial history.
Along the round is Stenkullen on Mårsätters farm. It offers cottage accommodation in a rural environment for those who want to extend their stay and wake up in the middle of the deer kingdom.
