This cycling route has undergone a special certification by the Swedish Transport Agency, which certifies that the path is of high quality, has clear signage and is safe for traffic. There is also a wide range of experiences and services along the trail.
The second stage of the Lelången Trail offers varied cycling along gravel and asphalt roads, through forests, countryside and along the Dalsland Canal. It is a nature-oriented route with several opportunities for detours and activities along the way such as canoeing, dressage, adventure park and Halmens Hus in Bengtsfors. Perfect for those who want to combine cycling with experiences.
In Gustavsfors there are restaurants, accommodation and rentals of bicycles, canoes and trolleys in the charming harbor area by the Dalsland Canal. The route to Bengtsfors (30 km) goes along forest and countryside to Kråkviken, where Silverlake Camp offers accommodation, rental and coffee. From here you can rent a trolley and take the bike the last bit to Bengtsfors - a nature-oriented and traffic-safe alternative.
Bengtsfors has plenty of services, cafés, accommodation and a bicycle museum. Also take the opportunity to visit Gammelgården's open-air museum. Further towards Dals Långed, the trail follows the Union Trail along an old embankment by the Dalsland Canal. You can cycle, take a rail bus or canal boat (with bike on board). Don't miss the 18th lock - one of the most idyllic places on the canal. 50% asphalt, 50% gravel.
