From Äsköping, you cycle on through the open Sörmland landscape on quiet gravel roads. Soon you reach the vicinity of Hjälmaren, where you can make a detour to Fisketorp's campsite - a beautiful place by the water with swimming facilities and ice cream kiosk.

Along the way there are more interesting stops, such as the viewpoint at the limestone quarry where you can learn about the history of the old limestone railway. In Läppe, a café, a swimming area and the opportunity for a break await before you continue on through varied nature.

Today's stage ends in Hampetorp, beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Hjälmar. A perfect place for an evening dip and a quiet end to the day.

Hjälmarleden is under development. The municipalities are reviewing the route and preparing signage, and the route choices listed here are suggestions. Have you cycled the trail? Please share your tips and experiences here: https://ivlv.me/izy1F
