Now you leave Sjuhäradsbygden and cycle south towards Halland on a quiet, low-traffic country road. Here you will enjoy fantastic views of Lake Fegen, which is known for its rich wildlife. Take a break at Fegen's chapel and the rest area in the village, where you can also find the sculpture "Mother with the brass pot" and read about its history.
The journey continues on a quiet little country road towards Krogsered, where you pass Lyngsjön. At the lake there is a lovely swimming area with barbecue facilities, a barbecue hut and a playground for children. From Krogsered, small gravel roads lead you on until you reach the highway outside Gällared. The stretch between Gällared and Askome has been called "Halland's most beautiful road." Here you cycle along the river Ätran on a low-traffic country road with breathtaking views, rich flora and fauna and cultural trails. During the summer, traffic can increase slightly, so be extra careful, especially if you are cycling with children. In Gällared's Yttra Bergs nature reserve you will encounter an old-fashioned cultural landscape and a farm museum that is open all year round. Yngeredsforsen and Döda fallet are also located along this stretch. Follow the nature trail that takes you to this historic area with logging roads, mill channels and dams surrounded by greenery.
As you approach Askome, the landscape opens up. Vessigebro is home to Loricks Smedja, where father and son keep a 100-year-old forging tradition alive. Above the forge is a shop, and nearby you will find "Gurkbänken," an adventure park with a playground, outdoor gym, sculpture park, arboretum and boules courts. Vessigebro also has a supermarket, bank, restaurants and accommodation. The cycle path continues on to Ljungby and passes Falkenberg's motor track, known for its major international motorcycle races. Feel free to make a detour to Ljungsjön for a refreshing swim. The trail then winds through a landscape of farms and fields until you reach Vinbergsmotet, where you'll find a wide range of businesses and fast food restaurants. Finally, you'll arrive in Falkenberg, where you'll be greeted by a wide range of shopping, accommodation, restaurants and stunning sandy beaches. Approx 80% asphalt, 20% gravel.
