Gräsbo Skola is a small family Bed & Breakfast in Gräsbo outside Östervåla. Here you live on the edge of the forest, in the middle of an agricultural landscape. All around are animals and nature, and usually a monumental silence. The host couple can give you tips on several nice bike rides in the immediate area.
Gräsbo is an old village. The name probably comes from the large meadows down towards Vretaån. At the old shoreline north of Gräsbo there is an old Stone Age settlement. There are some rock carvings west of the old village. It is not far to Färnebofjärden National Park, which lies on the Dalälven River and the border with northern Sweden. The Dalälven is also called "Limes Norrlandicus". This is where the plant and animal kingdoms of southern and northern Sweden meet.
You can book two charming rooms, the Red and Green Room with shared shower/toilet, or the Housewife's Apartment with its own kitchen and bathroom. You can have breakfast in the lovely garden if the weather permits, or in Solsalen with a cozy fireplace that warms cold days. The old school building has been carefully renovated with a fine sense of the house's history.
