On August 5-10, 2019, Kristianstad in Sk\u00e5ne will host the event.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the week, there will be a number of pre-packaged bike tours in Kristianstad that provide great cultural, nature and food experiences along the way. Participants can cycle all week or a single round. In the start and finish area of the Tivoli Park, an event area will be built up with activities for young and old.<\/p>\n<p>- We are very happy that the Bicycle Promotion has chosen Kristianstad and hope that it will get many more to discover our bicycle-friendly municipality, says municipal councilor Pierre M\u00e5nsson (L).<\/p>\n<p>- In Kristianstad Municipality, we see the Cycle Tour Week 2019 as a starting point for a continued investment in cycling tourism. We are convinced that cyclists will be an important target group for our visitor industry in the future, \u201dsays Ella Ekenberg, who is an event coordinator and project manager at Kristianstad Municipality.<\/p>\n<p>Events in Sk\u00e5ne is also involved in the work of the Cycle Tour Week and collaborates with the Municipality of Kristianstad because bicycle tourism is regarded as an important area.<\/p>\n<p>- Bicycle is a priority focus area in our strategy and CTV positioning events in Sk\u00e5ne as an attractive bicycle destination, says Pehr Palm, CEO of Event in Sk\u00e5ne.<\/p>\n<p>In line with the increased interest in environment and health, bicycle tourism has become increasingly popular around the world. When the bicycle route Sydostleden between V\u00e4xj\u00f6 and Simrishamn was inaugurated in 2016, it was with a clear goal to attract more cycling tourists to southern Sweden. For hundreds of members of the Bicycle Promotion, the Bike Tour Week since 1983 has been a highlight of the year.
