Do you want to cycle near the sea with close proximity to sandy beaches and charming Skåne cities on a high quality national cycle path? This bike package between Simrishamn and Helsingborg lets you explore the Sydkust Trail which was inaugurated in the summer of 2019. It means cycling for six days along a pearl band of different attractions. Small fishing villages such as Skillinge, historical remains such as the powerful ship setting Ales Stones in Kåseberga, the medieval feeling in Ystad and the pulse of big cities such as Helsingborg and Malmö.
You spend the night in nice, selected accommodation along the way with your own character and good comfort. In Skåne there are restaurants and cafes of the highest class with the special enjoyment of the landscape as a signature. During these days of cycling on the well-organized cycle path, you will build up your very own relationship with the Skåne coast.

The bike tour starts in the medieval town of Simrishamn, in the heart of Österlen. Today's goal is Ystad, with half-timbered houses and cozy restaurants. You will cycle through Skillinge which is an old fishing village. Don't miss visiting Ales Stones above the village of Kåseberga, an ancient shipwreck dated about 600 which consists of 59 large boulders. The view of the steep coast and Bornholm is magical. Before you reach Ystad you can take a dip in the sea if the weather permits.

After a delicious breakfast, it's time to start cycling towards Trelleborg, Sweden's southernmost city. You will cycle past Mossbystrand with its clear waters and vibrant fishing villages such as Abbekås and Hörte and the cozy harbor in Gislöv's location. In Smygehuk there are fish smokers with local specialties, shops and cozy cafes.
In Trelleborg there is a nice selection of shops, restaurants and several lush parks. At the city's highest point is Trelleborgen, a reconstruction of an old Viking castle with associated museum and café. Overnight stay at Clarion Collection Hotel Magazine which is centrally located in the city.
The day starts with a nice breakfast at the hotel, and then the cycling starts towards Skanör, sometimes called the Swedish Riviera. You will experience the fishing village of Kämpinge with its dune landscape, relaxing beach life and hundreds of traditional cabins. The nature consists of sparse pine forests that give a special character to the landscape and smell good in the summer. The next stop is Höllviken with a nice center.
Falsterbo has one of Northern Europe's most well-known birdwatchers and beautiful white beaches. For those who are interested in art, the supply is large. Arriving in Skanör, you can visit local fish smokers, stroll among the beautiful houses and enjoy the view and atmosphere. Overnight at Hotel Gässlingen at Rådhustorget with a popular barbecue buffet that can be enjoyed in the yard.
After a good breakfast, it's time to cycle to Malmö, Sweden's third largest city. Along the way you will cycle past several farm shops with local raw materials and large farms with animals. In Vellinge there are several good restaurants if you want to stop for lunch.
Arriving in Malmö, you come to the city, which is known for its variety of shops, excellent restaurants of all price ranges. The proximity to Denmark and Copenhagen is clearly visible. Lilla Torg, Pildammsparken, Ribbans cold bath house, Slottsträdgården café, Turning Torso or a walk in Västra Hamnen are just a few tips on places to visit. Overnight at Clarion Collection Temperance. Here you live in a different building, a stone's throw from the pedestrian street.
After a delicious breakfast it is time to leave Malmö and cycle north towards Landskrona. You cycle through an open landscape with sea views and beautiful scenery. In Lomma you will experience a combination of contemporary architecture and old cobbled streets. Here is a winery with its own production and organic selection. In Bjärred there is the over 500 meter long jetty that you can walk all the way out to get a refreshing dip or visit the cold bath house and associated restaurant.
At Landskrona you will find the Citadellet, one of the Nordic region's best preserved 16th century fortresses with fantastic flower splendor on the ramparts. There is a rich cultural selection, nice restaurants, art exhibitions and fine beaches. One tip is to take your bike on the boat to the island of Ven with its beautiful scenery and fantastic ingredients from the local farm shops. You spend the night at Hotel Öresund Conferense & Spa overlooking both the city and the strait.
Now you are soon at the final destination, and after breakfast it goes away to Helsingborg, one of the oldest cities in the Nordic region. You cycle along the west coast and pass, among other things, the idyllic Borstahusen, a fishing village dating back to the 18th century and beautiful views of Ven. The beautiful countryside of Glumslövs slopes for the thoughts of Italy's Tuscany. Just in the outskirts of Helsingborg you come to Råå which is a cozy coastal community with nice shops and wonderful scenery.
