For those who are looking for variety, beautiful views, nature experiences and culture, Sommenbygden in Östergötland is difficult to beat. Here are wilderness and bare lakes in excess. In this three-day bike package you choose between different bike tours of varying length and difficulty. Some are suitable for those who want to cycle on winding dirt roads and enjoy the landscape, others suitable for those who want to exercise the fitness a little extra in the fresh air.

The starting point for the day stages is Hotell Sommarhagen, which is an old rectory dating back to the 17th century. The building has been carefully renovated into a comfortable hotel beautifully located in the middle of Östergötland wilderness. After today's adventure, you return to Sommarhagen and enjoy dinner on the summer veranda overlooking the horses grazing and the sun setting over the lake.

Eight different tours to choose from
There are eight bike rides with associated travel descriptions. The tours have varying length and difficulty. The program varies but can include destinations such as Malexander with its church and pillar cave, Smedstorp with ancestry from the Iron Age and the village of Ulrika with pottery sales.

The bike rides are on small winding roads, between lakes, meadows and through forests. Most of the roads are small forest roads, almost without traffic and you get a packed lunch on the tours. There is also the opportunity to trade crafts in many of the places you visit. Heavy packing is not necessary because you live at Sommarhagen all days.

Cancellation & refund policy

Current cancellation costs under COVID-19:
- free cancellation up to 3 days before departure.
- 3 days before departure, 100 % of the package's total price.

Around Sommarhagen there is a fantastic nature with forests, lakes and meadows - and a population density of 2 pers / square km! Hike, bike or enjoy the hot tub under the starry sky (you have it for yourself as long as you want and we exchange water between each customer). There is plenty of room in the restaurant and the rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day.

Lovely and beautifully located accommodation. Good cycling, the best was the round where we started in Svalsjö. Very good food and a wonderful and welcoming welcome from the host couple.

Nice welcome. The menu is a bit meager.

A wonderful experience but a higher standard on the bikes would be desirable. All these lovely dirt roads demand high standards on the same as well as bicycle baskets for everyone.

Everything was well organized, you could perhaps give information in the beginning to everyone at the same time, not each group individually, as it took some time. The staff, by the way, absolutely superb.
