Kohlswa mansion outside Köping dates back to the mid-17th century and has been visited by both Karl XI and Karl XII who visited the western forests for hunting and eating game. The current grand piano building was erected in the 18th century and used in the 1950s as a hunting lodge by the Wallenberg family. In other words, the story is very much present for those living in the charming mansion. Right next to the Hedström stream, and if you feel like it, you can relax with a sauna or hot tub after today's cycling.
If you start from Köping, you can cycle a large part of the road on a rebuilt runway in the form of straight, flat, paved former Köping-Uttersberg Railway (KUJ). It is also possible to continue the cycling, on gravel, to the idyllic Gisslarbo a few kilometers from the resort Kolsva. In general, there are many great cycling opportunities in Köping.
The owners also run adjacent Kolsva Lantbruk with 130 cows and it is possible to buy organic meat raw materials for lunch or dinner that you prepare yourself. At the manor there is access to a fully equipped kitchen for self catering. The elegant orangery of the farm was renovated under the direction of Ernst Kirchsteiger and the work was followed in his television program. The rooms at the mansion are individually and individually decorated. The rooms have antiques, genuine carpets and small personal touches that fit into the manor environment. There are 18 single rooms and 25 double rooms. All rooms have cable TV and internet, tiled bathrooms with shower and WC. Pets are welcome (pre-booked). With a little luck, or bad luck, you can even experience some ghosts during your stay at Kohlswa…
