"I have never experienced such pleasant moments as on Ekolsund". Gustav III must have said that about the beautiful 17th century castle east of Enköping where he spent several summers. The castle's name appears in text as early as 1307. Today it offers ecotourism and health camp with the possibility of health check.
In addition to admiring the fantastic views and baroque park, there are plenty of nice activities to choose from when you park your bike. There are views of both the castle and the park, clay pigeon shooting, bird watching and views of the castle's arboretum, which is a collection of trees and other woody plants. Another variant is to take a quiet evening stroll in the beautiful surroundings. Why not stop and admire the quiet Lily Dam?
The accommodation at Ekolsund Castle is of course royal relaxing. Get into a copper bath and light candles after today's cycling. In total, there are 80 beds in the four units Castle, Exedran, Wärdshuset and Canalladan. The restaurant in Wärdshuset serves dinner if you book in advance.
In Canalladan you will find the castle's simplest accommodation, which is great for those looking for an affordable alternative. The rooms have shared shower / WC and a 140 cm bed. For those who want to stay in a room themselves it costs SEK 500 / night and if you want to stay two people it costs SEK 700 / night. Own food and breakfast are included and can be stored in a refrigerator in a common room where there is also a dining table as well as sofa and TV. There is also a micro and coffee & tea maker.
Number of beds in Canalladan: There are 20 beds (shared shower / WC). You can book rooms for your own use or for two people. All rooms are non-smoking and fur-free.
