One of the advantages of Björnögården is that it is as close to the revitalizing nature experience as it is to central Västerås. The plant is located on the water in the outdoor area of Björnö with all that it means of wealth in the form of wildlife and flora. As a cyclist you will find exciting forest trails, technology track and opportunities to learn more about mountain biking (note that there is a bicycle ban in the exercise tracks on the island). In addition, there are millions of fine country roads with little traffic in the surrounding countryside that are easily accessible from Björnögården.

When you are happy with today's cycling, there are plenty of other activities to try when the spirit falls on. A kayaking trip in the mild evening light perhaps? Or you can rent a sauna down at the water for the end of the day. Björnögården dates back to 1942. It has been operating in its current form since 2009. You live in charming cottages with from 2 to 10 beds. In the cottages are small kitchenettes. Kitchens, showers and toilets are in common areas. There is also a TV room in the main cabin. There is a cozy café and a well-stocked open-air shop where you can rent a bicycle.

Västerås is a nice summer town with many bike lanes and beautiful parks. It is a classic city with a lot of history. The cathedral is the highest in the country and the oldest parts are from the 13th century. Västerås is also a successful industrial city and the statue Aseaströmmen on Stora Torget shows how the workers once cycled to the factory.

Björnön is a nature reserve and outdoor area located seven kilometers from the center of Västerås. It is easy to get here by car and bus (bus line 2 / the green line has Björnögården as the stop).
