It is from Bishop's Arnö today's young Swedish author stars. Then of course it is the famous folk high school we are referring to. If you want to live in this beautiful literary landscape, you should cycle to Biskops Arnö Bed & Breakfast on the island's southwest part.

The houses are beautifully situated in a manor environment and the rooms are located in the building's historic wings from the early 18th century. The history of the site dates back to the 13th century when the Uppsala bishops owned the island. The Gothic Hall from the early 1300s is a remnant from the old Bishop's castle, and is Sweden's oldest profane Gothic hall still in use. The north and south wings are adjacent to the folk high school, where the breakfast buffet is served. In the school building there is a library, with a generous book collection and an equally generous magazine section.

At Biskops Arnö there are footpaths for those who want to move and there is a wood-fired sauna for rent. You can rent canoes that in the summer take you out to Lake Mälaren and a boule court for those who want to test it. Bishop's Arnö is about 10 minutes from the bird room Hjälstaviken.
