A fantastic holiday. Cycling close to nature is a sensual experience. We appreciated the standard of the bikes we rented and the personal and friendly service. All accommodations were very good.

The cycling tour begins in the medieval town of Simrishamn, in the heart of Österlen. Today's destination is Ystad, with charming cross-timbered houses and restaurants. You will cycle through Skillinge, a historic fishing village. Don't miss visiting the Ales Stones above the village of Kåseberga, an ancient ship setting dated around 600 AD consisting of 59 large stones. The view of the steep coast and Bornholm is magical. Before reaching Ystad, you can take a dip in the sea if weather permits.

Overnight is at Continental du Sud or Hotell Fritiden in Ystad.

After enjoying a scrumptious breakfast, it's time to begin your bike ride towards Trelleborg, the southernmost city in Sweden. You'll cycle by the picturesque Mossbystrand with its crystal-clear waters and vibrant fishing villages like Abbekås and Hörte, as well as the charming harbor of Gislöv. In Smygehuk, be sure to visit the fish smokers for local delicacies, and stop by the shops and cafes for a relaxing break.

Trelleborg offers a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and verdant parks to explore. At the city's highest point, you'll find Trelleborgen, a reconstructed Viking castle with a museum and café. You'll be staying overnight at the conveniently located Clarion Collection Hotel Magazine in the heart of the city.

Sydkustleden - stage 3 - Trelleborg - Skanör

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel, then set off for a cycle to Skanör, sometimes referred to as Sweden's Riviera. Experience the fishing village of Kämpinge with its sand dune landscape, relaxing beach life and hundreds of traditional style beach cabins. The sparse pine forests offer a unique character to the landscape and fill the air with a pleasant scent in the summer. Your next stop is Höllviken with a charming town center.

In Falsterbo, one of Northern Europe's most well-known bird watching spots, and beautiful white beaches are waiting. For art enthusiasts, there's a wide selection of offerings. Upon reaching Skanör, visit local fish smokers, stroll among the beautiful houses and enjoy the view and atmosphere. Overnight stay is either at the Hotel Gässlingen (with its popular grill buffet) near the Town Hall Square or Skanör Guesthouse.

After a good breakfast, it's time to cycle towards Malmö, Sweden's third largest city. Along the way, you will cycle past several farm shops with locally produced food and large farms with animals. In Vellinge, there are several great restaurants if you want to stop for lunch.

Upon arrival in Malmö, you'll reach a city renowned for its diversity, with markets and outstanding restaurants of all price ranges. Its proximity to Denmark and Copenhagen is clearly evident. Lilla Torg, Pildammsparken, Ribban's seaside bathhouse, Slottsträdgården's café, Turning Torso, or a stroll in Västra Hamnen are just a few places to visit. Overnight stay at the Clarion Collection Temperance, where you'll be lodged in a historic building just steps away from the main street.

In Lomma, you will experience a harmonious blend of modern architecture and quaint cobblestone streets. Here, you will find a vineyard with its own production and organic offerings. In Bjärred, you will discover a pier stretching over 500 meters, where you can take a refreshing swim or visit the cold bath house and accompanying restaurant.

Upon arrival in Landskrona, you will find Citadellet, one of the best-preserved fortresses from the 16th-century in the Nordic region, adorned with stunning flower displays on its walls. There is a rich cultural scene here, along with charming restaurants, art exhibitions, and lovely beaches. A suggestion would be to take your bike on the boat to the island of Ven, with its picturesque nature and the finest local produce from the farm shops. You will be staying at the Hotel Öresund Conferense & Spa, offering views of both the city and the strait.

Some trouble with the train connection between Malmö and Simrishamn so we did not get there. came to Trelleborg and cycled to Ystad. Returned by train due to storm Hans. Got help from the organizer to transport bikes and packing to Skanör due to the storm.

An absolutely fantastic South Coast Trail experience we have had even though the storm Hans made it difficult for us to cycle 2 stages. But we talked and saw other interesting things. Service and treatment Top Notch. We will come back.

Overall, we are clearly satisfied with the entire event. We have received a very good service, treatment and commitment from the organizer. The accommodation has been varied in appearance from bed and breakfast to more luxurious hotels, fun! To be a little picky, it would have been most cozy if it had been possible to place a little more trail among all the fantastic houses that exist. Now maybe it was a bit much of all the fields that were grown on. Maybe little things ☺️. However, we can recommend the grand tour on the south coast trail! Micke and Lena

We had six wonderful cycling days on the South Coast Trail. We had received good information beforehand and the hotels that were booked were nice, centrally located and close to the trail.

I am so pleased with the arrangement, what fantastic treatment and what fine accommodations. I cycled the Sydkustleden as a happy amateur and it worked. One thing only, Österlen and Skåne are short of cafes and small eateries, stock up in grocery stores along the way (ice cream kiosks are everywhere). I had my pack in the provided side bags and the back in the bike basket and it worked great. Also, there was no problem taking the train back to Simrishamn where I started. Highly recommended.

Amazingly beautiful, super good bikes.

Absolutely wonderful trip, which perhaps got extra plus points for the incredibly beautiful weather. Comments: A little better info about potential lunch spots on the trip. The directions around Malmö were NOT good!

Nice cycle path where the majority of the sections were on cycle paths. In addition, great service and hospitality from Sakura Tours and at our accommodations. Highly recommend!

The overall impression would have been 5 stars if signage in some places had been better. Needs to be reviewed.

A fantastic holiday. Cycling close to nature is a sensual experience. We appreciated the standard of the bikes we rented and the personal and friendly service. All accommodations were very good. It was extra fun that the debate was so different, from a small B&B to a spa hotel. We highly recommend vacationing in this way.

The food that was included in the package should perhaps be called more like supper instead of dinner, otherwise good.

Great trip. Great support from Monika at Sakura.

Absolutely fantastic bike package. Nothing to complain about except the headwind. :-) Extra plus that the accommodation was directly connected to the cycle path, as good as it gets.

A wonderful trip that for us started in Gothenburg. A little stressed about whether we would get the bikes on the Öresund train and then the Pågatåget. But it went well because we were out in good time. More difficult on the way home from Helsingborg. Too bad the trains do not have more carriages for bicycles. Good weather the whole trip. a wonderfully nice joint. The signposts looked good. In Malmö on the way from the center, it was a bit uncertain marked towards Lomma. No problems with accommodation. Contact Sakura tours top. Can really recommend the tour! So fine!

A couple of stretches with a lot of mixed driving and somewhat defective and even wrong signage, which detracted a bit from the overall experience since we had three children.

Hello! We have had an absolutely fantastic time on the cycling holiday. Beautiful roads and places! Very easy to book. Recommended for cyclists on the road we met, and our friends. We will return the next trio we do with the bike. With kind regards, Heléne and Per

We used our own bikes. Sometimes the signage for Sydkustleden was a bit confusing, but overall good.

A wonderful way to see Scania. In our group, everyone was "medium" trained and not at all used to long distance cyclists but it went great!
star_ratestar_ratestar_ratestar_ratestar_outlineAugust 2020, Leif Håkansson
You need to review signs and signage depending on some "sabotage" and vegetation etc. You also need to review the map material so that the road surface appears correctly. No big things but nonetheless important.

Route and service was perfect! Thanks to Sakura tours!
star_ratestar_ratestar_ratestar_ratestar_outlineJuly 2020, Aronsson
The signage of the trail needs to be improved, e.g. at intersecting cycle paths. It happens that the sign is on the left side in the direction of travel, which may be on the other side of a busy road. Such a placement entails a risk of missing the sign. Furthermore, it would be easier if the marking always contained the direction of travel, especially important in densely populated areas, e.g. Malmo. Overall, a nice bike ride with good support from Sakura tours.
star_ratestar_ratestar_ratestar_ratestar_outlineJuly 2020, John Svensson
Very good service from Sakura tours. Most of the hotels and accommodations were very good in terms of service, with the exception of the accommodation Our House in Ystad, which lowers the rating. No "welcome here or anything like that" but his first question was if we had to park the bikes as close as it was outside his hotel... Even the Clarion Collection in Trelleborg were a bit disinterested and not so welcoming to guests. But otherwise the hotels were good even if not all could serve porridge for breakfast. - However, Hotel Öresund in Landskrona could, which did not have porridge in its usual breakfast selection, but happily helped make one for me and asked afterwards if it tasted good. So little is needed for you to feel extra satisfied.
