Here you board the classic M/S Kung Sverker and enjoy a peaceful journey on the Göta Canal - one of Sweden's most beloved waterways. The journey ends in charming Motala, the capital of the Göta Canal, where an overnight stay in a nice hotel awaits. The evening is free for your own discoveries - perhaps a dinner in town or an evening dip in Lake Vättern. A perfect mini vacation for those who want to experience the best of Östergötland!
Day 1 - Cycling to relaxation

Your adventure starts in the charming capital of the Göta Canal, Motala. Pick up your bike, map and directions here - and soon you'll be ready to roll along the beautiful canal.
The first stop will be at Mallboden in historic Motala Verkstad, where a good lunch awaits in a cozy setting right by the water. The journey continues along the north side of Lake Boren, with beautiful views of Ulvåsa Castle and the ruins of St. Birgitta's childhood home.
After about 14 leisurely kilometers you reach Högby Spa, where the pulse of the day is replaced by rest and enjoyment. The spa department is ready with a tea and fruit buffet, and you can borrow a bathrobe and towel. In the afternoon, a delicious homemade coffee is served, and the evening is rounded off with a three-course dinner in a peaceful environment.
Day 2 - Canal pace and boat lunch

After breakfast, you cycle along the Göta Canal towards the charming little canal town of Borensberg, a short bike ride of about 5.5 km. If you have a little extra energy, there is the opportunity to continue a turn along the classic towpath for even more canal idyll.
Take the opportunity to visit Brunneby Musteri - here both taste experiences and 10% discount await in the store. At lunchtime you return the bike at Kaffeteriet in Borensberg harbor, no later than 13.00.
At 13.30 you board M/S Kung Sverker and change from bike to boat tour. During the journey across Lake Boren, through Borenshult's impressive lock staircase and further towards Motala, a good lunch is served on board.
Upon arrival at 15:30, you check in at Hotell Nostalgi, perfectly located in Motala harbor. There are shops, pubs and restaurants around the corner. Don't miss a visit to Motala Motormuseum, one of Sweden's most popular technology history museums - literally next door to your hotel.
Day 3 - A final dose of nostalgia
After breakfast, it's time to check out and say goodbye to the capital of the Göta Canal. If you haven't already had time to take a look at Motala Motormuseum, it's a perfect end to the trip. Here you will be greeted by shiny cars, classic motorcycles and technical history in a charming harbor environment.
A last walk along the quay, maybe a coffee in the sun - and then it's off home, with both new energy and great memories in the luggage.
