Almost no other landscape in Sweden can boast as many fantastic gravel roads as Småland. Here you'll find an extensive network of roads, many with almost no car traffic. Cycling offers the perfect combination of challenge and relaxation, making Småland a true paradise for gravel cyclists. The roads are of high quality, and the hilly landscape adds an extra dimension to the experience.

This cycling package starts at the southern tip of Lake Vättern, where the landscape with its rolling orchards brings to mind a Småland Tuscany. Along the way you travel through magical forests in a landscape rich in both history and culture. You will experience Nydala Abbey Church and get to know the heritage left by French Cistercian monks. Hear tales of Kristian Tyrann's bloody march through Småland, and explore the mysterious ruins of Eksjöhovgård Castle, beautifully situated on an island outside Sävsjö. The journey offers classic sights, historical gems and charming cafés where we stop to enjoy a cup of coffee and something good to eat. Each day ends with comfortable accommodation in hand-picked hotels, and a three-course dinner. The last night is spent in the magnificent historical setting of Teleborg Castle in Växjö.

To make the journey even smoother, your luggage will be transported by a support vehicle, and you'll ride with an experienced guide who knows the roads and the best stops. Throughout the tour, you will enjoy tasty meals with locally produced ingredients that follow the changing seasons. The cycling package is suitable for experienced cyclists looking for a unique and memorable experience.

After breakfast we set off. Today you cycle north along the shore of Lake Vättern, experience troll forests and the small wooden town of Gränna known for its candy canes with cobbled streets and charming low houses. Here you can experience the craftsmanship behind these classic treats and maybe taste some fresh caramels.

At Hunnerydsbadet in beautiful Landsjön we can stop and take a dip before we arrive at Rudenstam apple orchard with farm shop and café. Here we will have coffee.

You cycle through the East Vättern Scarp Landscape, designated a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Magnificent and small-scale. The proximity to Lake Vättern and the steep climb up to the heights provide a characteristic climate with both unique and dramatic nature.

The area is also known for its connection to John Bauer, one of Sweden's most beloved artists. He created a magical world of images and the deep forests, lakes and mystical landscape of Småland became his greatest source of inspiration. Bauergården is located in the middle of the magical Bauer Forest. Dinner and an overnight stay await you here. Many of the houses tell stories of merchants, craftsmen and life in a bygone era. Let's sit down in one of the city's cafés and enjoy the coffee and atmosphere!

Breakfast at the hotel is followed by places like Komstad and Bodafors, where Jonas Bronck, who gave his name to the Bronx in New York, has his roots, and the creative oasis Kulturgatan.

Bodafors is a gem with craftsmanship, history and design in focus. As part of Småland's furniture kingdom, Bodafors has a long tradition of Swedish furniture craftsmanship. Kulturgatan is a unique and vibrant meeting place for art, culture and crafts with cozy cafes and small shops.

Komstad was once an important site for the stone industry in Småland. In the village you can still see traces of this historic activity, with old quarries and buildings testifying to a time when stone cutting was one of the most important industries. Here you will also find the traces of Jonas Bronck, the emigrant from Småland who gave his name to the Bronx neighborhood in New York.

At Best Western Hotel Vrigstad you will find cozy and familiar rooms. Relax for a while in the outdoor pool before dinner.

Gravel roads, forests and lakes provide a close-to-nature experience that is hard to beat. Well-deserved lunch in a pleasant environment at the golf club.

We cycle through the center of Swedish furniture design and innovation, often called "Möbelriket." After breakfast, we continue south through a landscape that inspired the writer Vilhelm Moberg to write his beloved stories about the journey of the Smålanders to America. Swedish emigration to America began in the 1860s, peaked in the 1880s and slowed in the 1920s. During this period, around 1.5 million Swedes left their homeland, the majority of them crossing the Atlantic to start a new life in America.

We cycle through a very beautiful landscape, with rolling green hills, forested areas and quiet lakes. Along the way there are several picturesque villages and historical sites. We stop and take a dip in any lake we pass.

Tonight we will spend the night in a real castle. Dinner awaits in a castle setting.
