This cycling package offers great cycling in the beautiful Swedish nature, with four overnight stays in two different locations in comfortable rooms with shower and toilet. Remember to have good bike bags on your bike with you. It's the perfect experience for cycling enthusiasts seeking the sense of adventure in the forest. For the less experienced cyclists, there are also more easy-going options on nice forest roads and trails.

Day 1 - Arrival at PerOlofGården in Åsbro

Arrival in Åsbro, and cozy hotels PerOlofGården. Here you check in for peace and quiet, and can look around the surroundings. The hotel is located in beautiful Bergslagen, surrounded by several lakes, on the border of Tiveden and Kilsbergen with primeval forests and national parks. Host couple Nora and René with staff welcome you and make you feel at home!

In the evening, dinner awaits in the restaurant where you are greeted by a warm and welcoming bonfire. Here you can enjoy the nice view out over Lake Kyrksjön.

Day 2 - Scenic trails of varying difficulty

After breakfast, you can choose several scenic trails to cycle on, with varying degrees of difficulty. The area is perfect for those who want to train for long-distance races or just enjoy cycling in beautiful terrain. Some of the trails go partly along sandy ridges, which provides lovely and dry paths. The trails are less hilly than in Kilsbergen and some trails go through interesting old mining areas and historic land.

Not far from the hotel is Lerbäck's theater, with activities all year round. Well worth a visit!

Day 3 - Tiveden and Lake Unden

Today you cycle south towards Hamgården and Tiveden. Hamgården Naturresort is very scenic by Lake Unden. There is a sauna and barbecue area. In the evening, a well-prepared dinner awaits in the restaurant, based on local seasonal ingredients.

You stay in modern cabins, each with its own shower and toilet.

Day 4 - Cycling in Tiveden National Park

After a delicious breakfast, you are ready to discover Tivedens National Park by bicycle. This is one of Sweden's southernmost forests.

Depending on your level of fitness and cycling experience, you can choose from several different cycling routes in a wonderful nature with giant boulders and crystal clear forest lakes. After the day's cycling, a good dinner awaits, perhaps a drink on the terrace and a refreshing swim in Lake Unden.

Day 5 - Picturesque Askersund, forests and meadows

After breakfast we head back to PerOlofgården in Åsbro. You cycle via the charming town of Askersund and Lake Vättern, Sweden's second largest lake. You will cross the meadows at Snavlunda, and enter Åsbro from the west.

The first bike ride was about 3 miles in beautiful nature. But one bike got a flat tire, and we had to lead the bikes 1 mile in the pouring rain to the nearest repairman. It cost us 400:- The second leg was supposed to be 50 km, but turned out to be 62 km. It was far too long, and difficult terrain, in pouring rain and headwind. The brakes on two bikes stopped working, so they had to be led downhill. The hotel owner was kind enough to fix them in the evening. The third stretch to Tiveden was nice and reasonably long, despite half a storm, but the third bike had a brake failure, and had to be led downhill. The fourth day we would cycle back the 5 miles to the starting point. But given the lousy brakes, we did not dare to risk our lives, but the owner of PerOlofgården had to come and pick us up.

Considering the price, we had slightly higher expectations for the food. Dessert could have been included at PerOlofsgården and frozen vegetables felt a bit boring at Hemgården / Nature resort Tiveden. Otherwise, we were very satisfied.

On the whole, everything has been very good. Nice nature and friendly service. Last accommodation, Nature Resort Tiveden was super. Would have liked to check in a little earlier at the first accommodation, Per Olofs farm. Kl. 16 is somewhat late. We also lacked a hair dryer in the room. Bathroom was very cramped. Something we were not happy with that you can not influence is the lunch we had at Tivedstorpet. 175 SEK for a small piece of sandwich cake per person and that was the only thing to choose from. Just wanted to mention that. Not OK. Thanks for a great vacation experience. Marita and Sören

Very nice area and great hosts! The transfer days are quite exhausting if you ride on gravel roads with regular bikes, it's beautiful but progress is pretty slow.

We are again disappointed with the documentation, ie maps and descriptions. When we arrive at the 1st accommodation, they say that you should have sent maps home to me. Now the accommodation arranges it as best it can, but it is quite sad that it should be so. It also became a bit misleading, when the documentation is produced in that way. We have bought a trip where it is clearly stated that maps and descriptions are included so why does it not?
