If you want to live well, eat well and have access to some of Bergslagen's best MTB areas, this bicycle package is for you. You live at Nyhyttans Kurort near a lake with the poetic name Sången and cycle in Hjulsjö, Gyttorp and Nora-Pershyttan.

Just over a mile north is Hjulsjö with lots of nice mountain bike trails in varying degrees of difficulty. At about the same distance to the south are the nice wooden town of Nora and Gamla Pershyttan - a unique miner's village that also has many nice MTB tracks in the surroundings. In the evening you bathe in the sauna and sleep well in the silence and the fresh air in Nyhyttan.

The mountain bike trails that are part of the cycling area Bergslagen Cycling are marked with special MTB signs with a color and a number. You can download GPX files and route descriptions for each route from the map which you will find here.

Day 1

MTB for all tastes in Hjulsjö

It is about 15 kilometers to Hjulsjö which is an eldorado for you who love to ride MTB. Here are routes that suit everything from experienced experts to beginners who want to learn more.

The trails start at Hjulsjö gym, opposite Hjulsjö church and you have eleven trails to choose from. You cycle on historic land between burial mounds and cabins. Several of the trails run in similar terrain as in Rörbäcksnäs, and the paths wave along sandy ridges.

In the evening you can enjoy a sauna before it's time for a well-cooked dinner. You fall asleep unawares after the day's varied cycling and with the fresh forest air in your lungs.

Nora-Pershyttan and Gyttorp

cycle mtb in the mountains and stay at the new cabin's spa

In the morning you eat a hearty breakfast. Then you head south down to Nora and Pershyttan. Starting from Digerberget, Pershyttan's information center or Nyttorp in Nora, you can reach thirteen different trails, and from the bike you experience how both mining and the ice sheet have left their mark on the landscape.

Slantan is one of Pershyttan's most popular trails. It contains basically everything that makes a cyclist happy. Gyttorp is a gem for those who are interested in architecture with their houses built by Ralph Erskine. If you cycle Limstensvägen, you can stop and eat your packed lunch at the nice rest area with wonderful views of Lake Vikern. In the evening, dinner and a comfortable bed await at Nyhyttans Kurort.

The place was a bit run down but the rooms you lived in were nice. Incredibly bad with guests, do not understand why, affordable! The staff had a little bad control of the situation, but with a little explanation, they fixed everything to the best. Nice surroundings and a cozy swimming area. Close to Hjulsjö's MTB track. Worth visiting, best I have ever cycled, recommend tracks 9 and 12!

Fantastic good food! Very nice hostess! Hilly and varied terrain with a bit of a mountain feeling from time to time.
